Spell Checking Service
The SkyOS Spell Checking Service has now been integrated into the API and SkyGI. Using a simple class you can easily add spell checking support to your application. Furthermore, every SkyOS input widget offers spell checking out of the box now. (Using the SkyOS Service Manager you can easily disable spell checking system wide)
Weblications, Wikipedia Reader, API Reader, etc...
Finally, the Mozilla embedded Gecko engine has been ported to the new C++ API, making it very easy to integrate a fully featured HTML rendering engine into your applications.
Additionally, a few new applications have been created, which, for example allow fast browsing and searching of the Wikipedia archive or the SkyOS API documentation. (These applications are also linked to Viewers search result, which makes it now possible to lookup wikipedia, the SkyOS API, etc... for query search results)
The SkyOS native file manager, the Viewer, has been updated and got a NavigationView on the left side. (inspired by Finder). This addition makes using the Viewer much better and makes it possible to navigation to your devices and manage files much easier and faster. (Every Open and Save Dialog of course has this query, browse and navigation view too).
New Theme Engine
A complete new Theme Engine has been implemented, making it possible to totally theme SkyOS without having to write even a single line of code. Furthermore, with only minor changes you can easily convert WindowBlind and MS Visual Style (WindowsXP or Vista) themes to the SkyOS theme format.
Read more about the new Theme Engine here or take a look at a few samples.
EventViewer and Collector
A new Event System and Viewer has been implement. This application collects important system, security and software events (e.g. hardware failures, logins, security violations, software installation or updates, ...) and makes it possible to browse through all occured events in a simple application.
New SkyGI Widgets (PasswordDialog, NavigationView, DateParser, ComboBox, etc...)
The Theme engine storage has been update to support multiple setting files, making it possible to theme just single components without affecting other settings. (makes it possible to use the best settings from various available themes).
Huge Performance for Mozilla applications.
