Hello all,
I'm interesed in purchasing a SkyOS beta tester package, but I am concerned about the current state of driver development.
I have checked with the hardware list and 50% of my chipsets aren't supported. So I would like to know what the development team has done to ease the development of drivers.
If the SkyOS team are the only ones 'allowed' to develop drivers I'm afraid SkyOS (despite it's potential) isn't going anywhere.
If I would decide to purchase SkyOS I would certainly be interested in developing drivers and creating new software for the platform.

A Driver Development Kit will be available. For now, you might want to try testing it in VMware 4.5.2 and up, as the "virtual" hardware is fully supported.

The DDK used to be avialable but hasn't been updated AFAIK (Unless it was merged into the CD-ROM as the SDK was) but there is no documentation available for the new kernel

I whould like to kick this post back up.

What is the current state of the DDK? Is it available, and is it usable and recent?

the ddk is the header files in the /boot/programs/sdk/ddk folder or somewhere over there

there is an example and source of the via network driver somewhere on the site
