0002576: LiveCD boot fails with Low Memory, wrong amount of RAM detected

Trying to boot the LiveCD on a Dell Dimension XPS R450 (old machine):

Pentium II 450
384mb RAM
3c905 netcard
16gb HD
ATI Rage video card

The serial debug log indicates that only 64mb was detected, and boot fails pretty early with a "Low Memory" panic.

Tried other boot options from the grub menu with no success.

Memtest86+ sees the RAM and tests fine - also Debian and Haiku both see the RAM on this machine fine.

0002575: installation cd failed to start

after grub startet the kernel the kernel-debugger pops up with following message:
"reason entered the debugger: unable to automount bootdevice ..."

0002574: VMware Server 2.0 install bootloader poweroff

Under this version of VMware:

VMware Infrastructure Web access
Version 2.0.0 Build 122589

VMware server
Version 2.0.0 Build 122956

You install SkyOS as normal, when it gets to installing the bootloader, both if you choose to install to MBR or to install to hard drive partition it will try to install the bootloader then the virtual machine will instantly power off with no error. The powering off is not initiated by VMware but by SkyOS.

0002566: VMware Workstation mouse bouncing

Under VMware Workstation version 6.5.0-build118166
SkyOS boots correctly and without error but after login the mouse is dragging and bouncing,

0002573: Hiding splitter grip.

Upon removing all items from the info panel, on the left of the viewer window, the resize grip should disappear and only reappear when you add navigation, preview etc back.

It being there serves no purpose, as you cannot use it for anything.

0002572: Start Panel Icons - Directory relocation

The start.ico and startp.ico files for the panel, are currently located in /boot/system/panel

Wouldn't it make more sense for them to be in /boot/system/plugin/themes/windui ? This would make them themeable, as with the rest of the panel.

There are a number of obsolete bitmap files in the former directory too.

0002568: List View Header Alignment

Sometimes, the list view header appears to have a 'gap' in front of it, on the left hand side. Occasionally, this is filled with a black line. The gap tends to disappear if you should resize the list view.

Not a huge problem, just a visual thing which needs to be rectified.

0002514: List View Options Don't work

Right clicking on the List View headers in SkyOS, to remove list options, does not work.

0002571: [Mail App] - Ability to minimize the mail application to the system tray only.

As there is a panel plugin for the mail app, it would make sense to allow the mail application to minimize to the system tray, and to not be displayed in the task bar.

0002570: [Mail App] - View Activity Window

It would be useful if the SkyOS mail application, would have the option to allow the user to view the progress of their outgoing/ incoming e-mails. Particularly useful when receiving or sending large files.

This could be a small window, that can be optionally opened from the icon bar, should the user so wish.

0002569: [Mail App] - Print Message Button

It would be ideal for the SkyOS mail application to have a 'Print Message' button.

0002529: Firefox display rendering problems

While running Firefox 2.0.0.9 on SkyOS Build 6915 I've found some rendering problems,

* On some sites, like the this mantis site, the font sizes are displayed incorrectly.
* Images resizing is not done correctly.
* After scrolling, the screen is not updated correctly.
* When double clicking next to the tabs, no new tab opens

I've attached some screen shots.

I'm running SkyOS on a computer with a Nvidia Geforece MX 4000 video card.

0002564: Scrollbar is 1 pixel out of alignment.

The last row of Pixels at the top of the SkyOS scroll bar protrudes onto the list view header, making the window look a little untidy, and throws the window off somewhat.

The bottom part of the scroll bar is fine, its aligned perfectly. Perhaps these screenshots will help explain, the bottom screenshot in the image file, is a mockup of how the scroll bar should look.

Under VMware sound, the balance in media center
is 100% to the left by default.

0002561: Bash listed as Terminal and Bash from within SkyOS

Bash is listed as Terminal on the desktop but Bash everywhere else. Shouldn't we try to make this coherent? If I search for Terminal it doesn't being up Bash.

0002494: Period button on 10 digit keypad no longer working

I noticed that the period key is no longer working as of Alpha 6901. It does not type anything in SkyPad or Bash.

0002565: Making the info panel and Paragraph view the same.

I was just wondering, why are the paragraph view and info panels so different, when they do the same thing? Wouldn't it make sense from an end user point of view, for them to look same, as they perform the same function?

At present the paragraph view as icons on the left hand side, which change from pointing right to down, while the infopanel has icons on the far right hand side, which change from pointing up and then pointing down.

0002558: Mouse doesn't work under VMware Fusion

Build 6947 boots just fine under VMware Fusion (I'm using Version 2 beta 2 atm) on Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.4, even choosing the user to log in as works fine using the mouse but as soon as I'm logged into SkyOS the mouse just stops working as it's supposed to. It gets stuck around elements where I activate the VMware window - which although making it extremely awkward to nvigate is still doable.

Getting through an install this way would be a major pain though. This happens at every boot, 100%.

0002507: ISSFlusher using a lot of CPU after MP3 is finished playing

I had a MP# playing. Once it was done (with MediaCenter still open) I noticed that iss.app_ISSflusher was taking 60-80% cpu continuously.

i would recommend adding a saveToFile function to the Image class.
maybe even several file formats (jpeg, jpg, png,...) are possible?
